I would like to root for your team, if you’ll have me. • /r/steelers
First off, I would like to congratulate all of you on a fantastic win yesterday! Let me start out by saying that I am an avid Lions fan, and they will always be my #1 team. Having said that, I cannot take it anymore... This team continues to give its fans a small glimmer of hope, to only tear our hearts from our chests. If you would truly like an insight into the life of a Lions fan and the current situation, I recommend this read, it very good. While watching Monday Night Football last night, I realized just how many connections I could make to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both Detroit and Pittsburgh are classic rustbelt cities that were formed and defined by the hard working people that live there. Pittsburgh was forced to reinvent itself to rise out of the ashes, and Detroit is in the middle of this process, ourselves. There is also the connection of Antonio Brown coming from Central Michigan and Le’Veon Bell from Michigan State. dikk LeBeau, your long time defensive coordinator, is a hall of fame Detroit Lion. Then there is Jerome Bettis. Jerome was born and raised in Detroit, played college ball at Notre Dame (my team of choice), and was victorious in winning Super Bowl XL, which was played in Detroit. I am a hoping that watching and cheering for the Steelers, will bring me some enjoyment this NFL season. I may not have a terrible towel to wave around, but I respectfully ask Steeler Nation to accept me as one of their own for the remainder to the 2015 season, and possible more to come.
