If I was in the game (my sig :mjcry:) and using out of house production during the recording process, said producers can get a percentage of their fee. If it makes the album, they get the whole thing. If not, they got something for their labor :manny:

That's why you get contracts before you do any work for anybody in music. A lot of producers and artists will go in a studio on the promise of opportunity just because there's a 1000 other people in line that will do the same. You'll get turned away when you talk contracts up front but you keep your shyt and if they're that interested in you then you already have a good product that can make money.

15-20 years ago (and more) producers could be a bit more demanding and shyt, but nowadays there is ALWAYS that next dude that can fill in with the next generic beat.

ain't no one trying to burn bridges that aren't even made yet.
