I grew up in the hood, but I had both parents. We struggled a lot in the early years. But once I got to High School, our was paid for and my parents had a lot of extra money. My brothers were working and hustling. I was able to make a few dollars also. And i have to say all hoods aren't equal. We had the shootings and robberies, but the house near ours, we knew those families, so it didn't seem that bad.

I remember my parents thought about moving to a nicer nieghborhood, into a newer house. Money wouldve been really tight. I would've went to a different school, other than that, I don't think struggling in a nicer neighborhood is better than having extra money in the hood. Guess it depends on how bad the hood is.

What ya'll think?

Ull be a slave to ur house in a boring area that will prolly turn into the hood anyways in 5-10 years

A 30 minute drive through most suburbs will show you how many people decided to struggle in the burbs and ended up bankrupt with a foreclosed house on their hands and debt for the rest of their natural life.

2006 fukked up alot of the people that you are talking about. :francis:
I bet they wish they'd never left:francis:

house was getting burglarized... car parts were stolen.... headlights... radio... all type of shyt.

one time, my mom's acura got stolen... the whole car.... nikkas took the whole whip

in 2005, my pops cashed out on the brand new 750....we had to move at that point.... couldn't park the big body in the hood like that.

I hear what you saying... but that peace of mind is valuable so I know why people move

I live in the hood in my grandparents house they left for me and never leaving unless I get married and my wife want to get a place and I'll think about renting it out..

But anyway my property tax not bad and the whole street is middle-class black and Mexican who keep the street nice.

I have friends and their woman running to the burbs and having to work OT everyday to pay high property taxes and other bills just for a place they only sleep cause they can't enjoy personal time cause they working just to say they living large

You might have gone to a better school that would have taught you to not use went in that sentence.

You pay for safer& less chaotic environment when you move to a "nicer" area. Better run schools and city.

Dam, where u from?

Every hood is different...I moved around alot in South East and one block was on fire, shootouts robberies goons hanging outside...

Then another hood was kinda quiet lol

Some blocks/neighborhoods was fulla older and retired people and were relatively quiet. Lowkey hidden gems surrounded by hot blocks...If I was still there id buy a house in one of those quiet blocks

Happened to my uncle trying to ball out to please my aunt

Needless to say, they foreclosed the house and got divorced:francis:

All cuz he thought he was too good to live in a working class neighborhood....which was actually a safe neighborhood...just not bujee enough..

Now he broke as hell & his old house cost more than what he paid for originally when it coulda been paid off by now...

Y’all coli nikkas be goofy lmao. I lived in a 1 bedroom room paying 400$ a month while stacking. While my friends were paying 1400 plus utilities a month in an apartment. Sure I couldn’t have parties or whatever but my savings look way better than theirs. Couple of em got evicted they couldn’t even keep up with they rent. Always never had money on the gas and couldn’t go out. I’m in a house to sleep and eat I don’t need all that extra shyt

All hoods are different. And alot are on a block by block basis. Like one poster already said, you can live in the hood while the environment may not be the best, your household may not have ever been victimized at any point. I can see someone living that life say, stay in the hood and get your paper up here where its cheap. On the other side of the coin, the guy who lives across the street in that same neighborhood could have been robbed, his home invaded, car broken into, shyt vandalized or had violent encounters while staying there. Because that family WAS victimized, the piece of mind they feel theyl get by moving into a middle class community and have a significantly worse financial burden outweighs staying. Having to buy your kids clothes from the thrift store, not having cable, struggling to make ends meet but knowing your kids are safer is a compromise/burden that a man might have to carry for the sake of his family. Life experiences are unique to every individual that lives them. This is not rocket science.
