I was pushed to do that mingling stuff during my freshmen year, but I was way too busy with working full time and going to school full time. I'm a sociable person so I do not have a problem making friends. Too many people in college are more worried about impressing others and etc. My motto has always been do whatever works best for your wallet. I'm transferring and have to live off campus because that on campus housing is too damn expensive.

Yeah, that's how it was at my school. My school was small and people tried to force a conversation with you; and impress others. I had a couple of homies (nupes) that took out private loans to buy polo gear lol for the ladies. But at the end of the day; your doing right by focusing on school and trying to leave with minimal debt. But it's still good to try to have some fun; it's a once in a life time thing.

It's not weird. Don't be embarrassed by such small matters.

Gonna be 24 soon.
Since my freshman year I've lived in apartments near campus, it was cheaper
But because of working full time, I couldn't really mingle on campus or meet many people since I couldn't join anything due to work.
I then moved back home after some family hardships, commuted about 45 to an hr a day to class and then back. Took a few years off college cuz it was hard to keep up.
Now I'm back at college but thinking bout transferring to finish my last year.
If I'm at a new school, or I stay at the one I'm at, should I look into staying in a dorm? Or will I regret doing so being that I'm too old to be surrounded by freshman and not have my own space.
Living in an apartment is usually cheaper. I lived in the dorms for my first four years in college, i.e. all years. :lolbron: But anyway, once in a while, there would be an older person, like 26 who lived in the dorms.
The one thing about dorm life is the immature crap that happens, pulling fire alarms at 3 AM in the morning and having to exit until it is deemed a false alarm, people throwing up in the men's bathroom almost every weekend, people playing their stereos super loud at 3 AM in the morning, people peeing all over the bathroom floors, cacs acting like dikks to be funny, but if you look beyond that and try to enjoy college life, dorm living is fun.

You might get a senior or junior as a roommate, which is good because they are serious about finishing school. Freshmen get freshmen roommates. That's a given.
