Constantly seeing 2/3 thirds of my people struggling. The Neighborhood is in poor shape. People strung out on dope. Pest everywhere. Seeing your childhood friends become felons, dopefiends, or homeless. Also seeing people repeat the same mistakes a lot of their parents made those generational curses. And then if you're a brotha who's doing all right for himself then the hate is real. A bunch of masculine hoes with poor hygiene because they don't feel comfortable enough walking around in their feminine because it so many predator nikkas, so they gotta be hella aggressive. Feminine nikkas who don't want all of the responsibility that comes with having to be a provider, leader, and protector. It's easier as a nikka to be submissive and just let the world around you crash and burn. A bunch of bad ass kids running around, breaking shyt, and cutting a fool in school.
Can't wait till I get my bread up I'm moving from this mug.
I wasn't even born when this song was released but it's highly relatable and suitable for the thread topic. Old heads ya'll had some bangers.

things have changed in many hoods, but there’s still many hoods as you described. Most won’t agree with me, but most of what you described is CHOICE. Most of us have a choice to change, some of us really don’t and can’t, but like I said most of us do have a choice. Some of us relate being Black to being “hood” or living in the hood. Most of us correlate the hood to being grimy, like a badge of honor of what it IS to be Black. Like we’re considered sell outs and c00ns if we aren’t from or don’t live in the hood. Hood mentality is the TRAP that we gladly SUBJECTIVELY perpetuate as a whole, until we want to disassociate ourselves for others reasons, namely to gain advantage. Choice.
