Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Phenomenom was perfect for its timing/release.

Right during the height of the Bad Boy/Shiny Suit era... and it didn't hurt that The Hitmen produced the vast majority of it.

Only reason why it didn't do as well as it did... Def Jam failed to push & promote Candy Girl as a major single/create a video for it.

Damn shame.

Always think about that trip I made to LA summer of 97 with mama and hearing it on the radio for the first time at a relatives house's radio.

Hope all is well up there mama. You'll always be my candy girl.

Anybody with a decent to great system in their whip... and truly appreciate this track and the bassline for being wellllll ahead of its time.

And there are a ton of lines silenced out on the track... i wonder what he was saying.

Mama Said is my favorite from him, but he really does have a strong catalog. I forgot how great "Goin' Back to Cali" was, as I hadn't played it in a few years.
