Banks has a grimey and gritty vibe to his music overall. I’m not sure what some of you are expecting. Seriously, when was the last time you heard Banks drop a track with a R&B hook? What year was that? @L $ C, why are you asking for a type of track that Banks hasn’t made in years?

Who do you think Banks should collab with? NBA YoungBoy? Quavo? If you know Banks, then you already know he thinks most of these rappers are inferior weirdos. Banks usually does features with his NY/East Coast nikkas, that’s just how it is. You all need to check out other artists and stop expecting Banks to stray from HIS NORM.

And Banks’ music and writing style have definitely evolved. You just don’t notice it. He’s a top-tier writer and lyricist. I bet some of you actually think Banks is still just a punchline rapper.
I don’t think anyone is hoping he drops Karma pt 2 but I do think he can get a better version of the gritty sound if he spent some of his budget on one beat from alc instead of 10 from cartunez (no hate to cartunez I fukk with him most of these new dudes he been working with since COTI) but man you’re sellin Banks short tryna pigeon hole him into one aspect of his writing game. Go listen to that Budden song Last Day, Banks absolutely bodies it with a more energetic flow. Classic fukking verse imo, came in and effortlessly bodied Joe and Juicy J. For him to drop a verse that piff and be capable of dropping verses like that it’s insane in my mind for him not to. Meanwhile if your ass was in the studio that day you would’ve been telling him he needs to spit something else because it wasn’t gritty enough lol

Joe Budden last day was released in 2013. Banks was probably 29-31 when he recorded that. Banks is 43 right now. What the hell does he look like rapping on that kind of beat right now? :beli:

You cant pigeon hole Banks into a style that he likes and continues to use. Yall dont like grimey and gritty Banks yet its most of his catalog. Im trying to figure out what artist are yalk looking for.

Damn didn’t realize that Budden song came out that long ago smh. And speaking for myself I 100% like grimey Banks that’s why I’m still bumping HH6 weeks later but it seems like you ONLY like grimey and gritty Banks. Nothing wrong with that but idk why you get mad at some of us who appreciate the other shyt Banks can do. Release date aside you don’t like that verse on Last Day?

I think you misinterpreted what I put. I never said Banks music hasn't evolved, I said the producers like Cartune beats sound hasn't evolved per project IMO that's why stuff sounds similar. Even the themes in the music don't differ

Banks 1000% is a better lyricist than he's ever been. I actually agree with most of the stuff you're saying, I think you're just looking too deeply into the ppl asking for better beats conversation. Banks spazzed on AYR2 and because it was other ppl beats, it's the closest you'll get to him in 2025 spazzing on better production.

Part of this is Banks fault himself tho. He scrapped a project that saw him step outside the box and those collabs he has with Gucci, Durk, etc remain in the vault and apart of his cult following would still like to hear those

Ppl I'd personally like to see Banks collab with are Lupe, Cole, Ab Soul, and even Wayne cuz Wayne always brought it on Griselda features and Griselda is similar to Banks. I could see collabs with Larry June and 2 Chainz as well depending on the vibe cuz I've heard Banks work with Currensy before

I do agree with you tho, nobody is going into a Banks project expecting the best production but for discussion purposes, that is an aspect that is holding him back. His mixing was also criticized and he seemed to have fixed it

Nobody in here believes he just a punchline rapper idk where that came from. He been gettin praised since FNO writing wise.

This is not true. I was bumping fly in the wind in the whip on repeat a couple weeks ago. Banks does rap on upbeat/bouncy type tracks too.. yall just dont say anything. Look at value of a check.

The point, thats not Banks go to. He’s 43. He stays in his lane. The beats/production on these tracks are actually tough… yall want to hear Banks on Future and Migos type beats. Thats like putting applesauce on cheeseburger type weird. I dont know what artists yall looking for but it aint Banks.

Nobody wants to see Banks rap with those goofies. Banks picks beats that fits his style of rapping and subject matter. If you dont like his style, stop listening. I promise you it will never change.
Banks aint collabing with goofys..im glad he scrapped that trash south shyt..he a ny boom bap artist thats happy to stay in his lane

Deadass thats his m.o. and sticking to the script which i love

Bro i legit dont know who these guys are looking for when they click play on a Banks tape.

Banks is rapping outta control on this shyt and instead of getting praised you have goofies complaining about his signature sound.

People just want to hear Banks get back to making some OUTSIDE music. He is being stubborn about it but he knows damn well that's what ppl want. It doesn't even have to be commercial.

This

The ppl asking for a lil diversity in the music ain’t even asking for him to hop on tracks with young boy and rap on Quavo style beats

Even with the unreleased collabs like Gucci and durk… those are collabs banks himself chose to do. We only mention those because we know they exist and just curious to see how they turned out.

In regards to this LP, no one is even saying that he isn’t spitting on it. I even said the shyt was dope.

We all part of the same fan base. Some of yall cool with whatever he do and some of us wanna hear a lil diversity some times. Ain’t nothin wrong with either side of the fence

Some ppl gon be happy with more cartoon beats and some ppl gon confuse ppl clamoring for alchemist production for trap beats :manny:

Some of yall be just as stubborn as Banks in what ppl sayin but it’s cool lol
