You can check out the video I posted above....those were some of the main players and big bois in the SOHH postig game around then. But I'll give the people not familiar with SOHH an abreviated timeline.

1995- Support Online Hip Hop is born

2002-2007 I'd say was the prime fukkery era of SOHH. So many great aliases, beefs, trolls, the modding was pretty lax, you had to really get into it with a mod to get banned. I started posting in 2006 as TheT Organization.

2008-2010 the site started to decline, get boring.

2011 was the beginning of the end. One of the posters has the exact post quoted that started the movement in their sig.

Basically the mods were banning people for no reason and being dictators and Felicia Palmer tried to BS the posters about a server upgrade (the site layout never changed from 1999 to 2012).

I remember I took a break from the site in 2011 to focus on finishing my final semester of college....when I came back around may of 2012 the site looked like a ghost town and the same threads would be on the front page for weeks.

Eventually as the coli grew and poster were signing up to make free accounts, SOHH faltered and dwindled in numbers. At one point there were only 56 active members posting at one time...it used to be hundreds.

Then around September of 2012, SOHH died.

Took 6+ months for them to bring their board back

The IC was never the same after that smh. Then they had a second "upgrade" and that's what made me stay on SOHH permanently instead of posting on both. But then SOHH ended up getting hit by them as well.

Remember that snitch Logic86 who spent many years sucking up to be a mod? He was the only one that went down with the site lol of course he wouldn't get any love on here if he tried to migrate.

You had to have a paid e-mail account (work e-mail, .edu, .gov, college/university e-mail) to post on there. You couldn't have just a yahoo or gmail account or anything like that.
That's why many people lurked but never registered cause it was almost impossible.

late June 2008, a series of attacks took place against the website.[8] The attack took place in stages, the message board section was infiltrated first, which SOHH then shut down. On June 23, 2008, an apparent hate group which identified themselves as "Anonymous" organized DDOS attacks against the website, successfully eliminating 60% of the website's service capacity. On June 27, 2008, the hackers utilized cross-site scripting to deface the website's main page with satirical images and headlines referencing numerous racial stereotypes and slurs, and also successfully stole information from SOHH employees.[9]

Following the defacement, the website was shut down by its administration. AllHipHop, an unrelated website, also had its forum raided. By the evening of June 27, 2008 AllHipHop.com was back online and released an official statement in which it referred to the perpetrators as "cyber terrorists" announced that it would cooperate with SOHH "...to ensure the capture of these criminals and prevention of repeat offenses." On June 30, 2008 SOHH placed an official statement regarding the attack on its main page. The statement alleged that the attackers were "specifically targeting Black, Hispanic, Asian and Jewish youth who ascribe to hip-hop culture," and listed several hip hop oriented websites which it claimed were also attacked by the hackers. It concluded with a notice that it would be cooperating with the FBI.[8]

When interviewed, Felicia Palmer, co-founder of SOHH, confirmed that an FBI probe was ongoing, and that each time the website was attacked, data on the suspects was retrieved. Palmer indicated that some of the attackers were "located within the United States, between the ages of 16-21" and that a few of them were based in Waco, Texas. Initially under the impression that the hackers were pranksters, she came to believe they were "beyond pranksters" and the attack was racist in nature.[9]

It's true I was around on both forums when it happened. It's what caused the IC to do it's first "upgrade" while the site was down for months due to the hacking attack and it was never the same again. It's possible it can happen here but who knows.

TBH, I don't even know how they manage to make money off of that site anymore. It doesn't get as much traffic as it did when the forums where poppin. How do they pay their staff? Is it just five people running that whole thing now period? I know they starvin over there.

I think some tech company brought them years ago.

That was the reason the forum name was changed to ProjectCovo.
