Locked Iphone

So last night I was out partying for NYE. The coat check was full so I put my coat near some speakers so I wouldn't have to carry it. Some idiot took my coat when I wasn't looking. I saw him walking around, confronted him, and took my coat back.

When i'm looking through my pockets he threw my hat and headphones away.....but left his Iphone in my pocket

It is locked though......what can I do with it? Would somebody buy a locked iphone 5?

First you need to turn it off and take out the sim card so he doesn't locate you and distribute work.

Its a Sprint phone not sure if taking the Sim out disables it from the network.

So if I restore it in Itunes....wont it still be under his account? If so....what do people typically do when they steal peoples Iphones?

Just try to prevent him from finding you. That's your main goal right now.

If you restore it, his info will be totally erased. Do it right away because he could be tracking the phone.

Once this is done....can the phone be activated by somebody else? I thought phone companies could check a phone serial number or something before they do that. Also, should I leave the sim in when I restore the phone on itunes

There is no sim in a sprint phone. And yes someone else can activate it. I've never heard of a phone company checking serial numbers and denying access

My cuz doing a 3 year bid because of a hot iphone. He got it from one of his boys that robbed a "White Angel" out in the burbs. Police came all the way from the burbs to get that phone. Followed cuz for the whole day until he was by himself. Once that opportunity came they snatched his azz up at a G station. Ole girl could not identify him. So he got off for the robbery. But the niqqa had a gun on him when the boys swooped in on him. Niqqa was already on probation. So in a way the judge looked out for him with a 3yr bid. If that makes any sense She said "i feel for you getting caught up in this. You brought this phone thinking you were getting a steal. And u recieved one" but she felt sorry for cuz and gave him 3years instead of the mandatory 5. To sum up the story get rid of it quickly. Dude can say u robbed him or some sh1t

When you try to erase it,it's gonna ask for his Apple ID and password if he has find my iPhone turned on there's no way to get by that screen.

Your right, I erased everything and then it went to some activation where it asked for his ID/password and said it was associated with his email address. So I can't even use this as a ipod? Guess I'm just going to toss it.
