So that Dead Celebz thread by @Deadpool1986 got me thinking about life after death.

I dunno, but it's scary as fukk to think there's nothing else.....I'm hoping there's some form of reincarnation. I thought about this for like 10 minutes straight. Then I realized that I have no recollection of Past Lives. So, even if that were true, it wouldn't matter if I existed again or not, because there was no continuous awareness to build upon. don't know how to not exist. I know I like existing.... I want to keep existing. I don't care if it's like falling asleep and never waking up. I love life and I don't want it to end. What I don't understand is why anyone else is OK with it all of it ending:sadcam:

Religion aside; Logically, what happens after death?

This is what I am coming up with and would love to here others opinions. After death the brain will cease to function within seconds. No electrical impulses will transmit. Thus, we will not be able to think and our consciousness will no longer exist. It will literally be like we do no exist and never had existed. We won't feel, think, or even know we are dead because that's impossible. This may seem bad, but in reality, you will and never could possibly know. Basically, it is the same as before when you were born. Do you remember a thing?

I just want to know if there is another logical theory that could be possible besides this one Brehs?:patrice:

Nope. That's about it.

Our desire to keep existing does explain religion. People hate comprehending irreversible nonexistence so they talk about going to heaven or being reincarnated or resurrected.

Our only hope for immortality lies in scientific advancement although if a way to preserve consciousness indefinitely was discovered, I doubt the powers-that-be would let it fall into the hands of the common man.

In essence, we're all fukked and existence is a huge cokktease. Enjoy it while it lasts. :manny:

You'll find out. These conversations are either pages of speculation or religion bashing

:whoa: I'm trying to keep this discussion civil, religious viewpoints & speculations are welcome ... I obviously agree that you can not attribute logic to the unknown, such as what happens after death, nor can you really have this discussion without the possibility of something spiritual in essence. Even if you try and forcefully remove it because that too is part of the unknown

You're here. Then you're not.
Like match on fire.

Make the most of the time you have.
Who gives a shyt what happens when it's over...

The live slow die fast approach .....:smugdraper:

Can't help it. I find this state of affairs to be completely unacceptable. I will never be ok with it. I don't think about it every minute of every day, but when I do reflect on it I think it is with an amount of horror that is entirely appropriate:damn:

Well put...I guess one way of looking at it is to conjecture that there is one entity (god, source, whatever) of which we are all aspects who experience possibilities (life). Dying is a transformation into more experiences. In a particular experiential aspect, if you've lived in a box your whole life you don't know what's outside the box or even that you are in a box. We define life according to our current aspect, ie, living tissue having experiences in this consensus reality.

"After death...we will not be able to think and our consciousness will
no longer exist."

Perhaps, if that consciousness is defined as the particular aspect you are in. A limited consciousness may be necessary in order to experience the aspect you are in.

From my own experience and years of research, I've learned that I (meaning me) would go back to where I came from.
I came from source which from my understanding is what people here refer to as "God" only it isn't what religious people describe it.
I've discovered (or learned) that it is gender-less and is describes as a massive orb of light/energy. Which makes sense to me because I (human) am energy and it has been scientifically proven that my energy can not die/be destroyed. So I at least recognize my connection to source energy and know that I will never truly die. Physically, maybe since my body is a shell.

I assume that after I leave earth (which I don't plan on for awhile but if so hopefully will be smooth) I will either go back to where ever I came from (which could be anywhere since there are billions of planets and many dimensions in between), or I come back to earth to live yet another cycle which again (I don't plan too)

I think you like existing so much is because you are meant to exist and to experience being a living creature.
Logic is only half of it, you also need your creative thinking as well. This is balance.
