My foray into online dating has been nothing short of a fascinating, sometimes scary, study of the
mating habits of the modern male. Thus far, Im somewhat amazed that our species and

I know this is a little generic, but guys listen up! Males are always whining that they dont
understand us so Im going to do my part for the female sex and spell it out loud and clear for you:

Sounds simple doesnt it? Youd think so! Lets discuss for a moment.
Lets start with appearance. Men dress as such. Whens the last time you picked up a copy of GQ
and saw the cover model sporting a plunging v-neck Ed Hardy shirt, baseball hat and aviator
sunglasses? Looking like a man doesnt require a Black Mastercard. Just put a little thought into
how you look and ask yourself if youd take your mother to brunch in what youre wearing.
Since youve got your dearest mommy in mind, take a moment and ask if shed approve of
your initial message. If not, us ladies probably wont either. Personally, Im far from a prude
but I deserve to be treated like a lady and wooed properly. I promise you wont have to be on your
best behavior for long but well both appreciate it a little more if you put some effort in. Men
comport themselves in a manner conducive to making women feel comfortable and safe around
them.
Finally, and probably most importantly, learn the fine art of balancing aggressiveness with
sensitivity. A man should use his size, his voice and his mind to convey a sense of authority and
command respect. He should take what is his but hes sensitive enough to understand when he
hasnt earned that privilege yet and can read his audience (be it a large group or a more intimate
setting). A sensitive man doesnt cry at sad movies; He knows how and when to comfort his partner
when she does. He doesnt light candles and lay rose petals each time he makes love; He knows
how to hold her down just tightly enough
