Oscar checks West, West responds with a bow, neither budges...

Meanwhile Lebron gets SMASHED in the chin with a massive ...airbow? :comeon:

I blame star-treatment, Euros, the leagues gradual favoritism of wing players (and the banning of contact-oriented 1 on 1 defense/checking), and the NBA's currently excessive fear that "physical" basketball will potentially ruin the leagues reputation. I hope things will change in the coming years, I don't want to have to explain to my kids about flopping. How do you guys rate how effective last years "anti-flopping" campaign was? Was it enough to make the game watchable? Or does more need to be done? I personally noticed less flopping right away but then I def recall some no-calls no-fines that made me :patrice:

The anti-flopping policies are not really applied to star players, so I wouldn't call it effective.

I think a counterculture of physical play and attitudes need to happen to reform the game back to being more reasonable. The problem right now is you have players actually justifying flopping ("It's not even a bad thing" -Lebron). As long as this trash continues to perpetuate through the league - especially by prominent players - it'll only continue.

We need more coaches and players, and particularly star players, that play physical, and fight through it... while actively calling out flopping for what it is. It'll be difficult to find people that do so, given that right now, floppers win.
