Looking back at it why did we like Pimp My Ride?

Im sitting here lookin at my pops old beat up 87 Nissan pickup and I was like if I had the money I'd redo the whole thing for him just cause even tho he rarely drive it

But anywho why TF did we like Pimp My Ride? Used to watch it everytime it came on back in the day but thinking bout it now it was so terrible. The cars were so stupid. The mechanics were corny. Everything bout it was stupid.

This was when car mods were popular. F&F was an actual legit series and not just an over the top action movie. Perfect timing, I was always impressed w the exterior more than the interior but it was interesting because no one you knew had that in their cars

Yeah. I think there was only one car where they actually did mechanical work. The rest of the cars were just aesthetic upgrades.

it was just entertainment like Cribs. There was a time when that aesthetic of car with those paint jobs and rims and tvs was popular but MTV just kinda turned that up to a new level and made it corny. You just knew them shyts were low quality builds for TV only. If you ever seen what nikkas like Overhaulin did to their cars, you never even looked at West Coast Customs the same.
