I get his message but its also distorted and gave the birth to all of these "Be your own Boss" muthafukkas you see today. Plus he came across as very obnoxious and try to fool people that he did all this on his own . Nothing wrong with aspiring to have your own . That should be the goal but you can't put down the same people whom are working 9-5s and expect them to support you. Plus It also opened the door for all of these lazy muthafukkas who think they don't have to work their way up and pay dues that they can just one day walk in with a suit and tie, Get a LLC and get rich in a month. What yall think?

I'm 50/50 on this

Someone had to shake shyt up. Not saying this interview is the end all be all, but in the Black community it was so normalized to shyt on budding entrepreneurs and new small businesses like they are "idiots chasing a dream". Now it's seemed as a respectable endeavor and started a movement for Black people to be more economically independent instead of the dominant fall back plan of working under White owned businesses

But on the flip side in some cases it has gone too far where you have "CEOs" who just started an LLC with $5000 in their bank account shytting on a 9-5 worker with a stable career because they don't own a business, and even worse shytting on Stephan A Smith or Shannon Sharpe for being employees with million dollar salaries

Making a thread about another man :dame:

Seriously though a lot of people weren't ready to hear it at the time. And I think if he had couched it in terms of Black power it might have gone over better.

But he was right. You can't call yourself a man and build nothing for your kids to inherit like a business.

Otherwise what's the point of being a parent and working and sacrificing for decades?

Last time I checked, majority of blacks work for whites

Dame was simply sounding the alarm of emergency.

I was already on this mindset around the time the interview dropped.... it simply reinforced my beliefs and gave me added fire.

We're not in slavery anymore.... why are we still (as a collective) under the economic yoke of another group of men?

this is a mindset that more people need. you dont have to follow it word for word but it shows you the difference between striving for something greater and bum ass complacency
