I remember when this first came out, many rappers cited this song specifically as the death of hip hop

11 years later was this song really the beginning of the end?

I remember when it was the No 1 song in the country back when I lived in the USA.
As a lyrical music type dude I was slightly appalled at first but shortys used to snap something crazy in the clubs though.
It was then Hip hop had to admit fully the south had taken its own space on the radio. Game had a popular line at the time that epitomized the entire scenario. Something like

''people from the A, keep snapping your fingers to get radio play, i aint going away, i dont regret what i say all i hear is one blood.....''

It was definitely a turning point

We had heard of lil Jon, yang ying twins etc. A lot of southern artists had been putting in work creating their Lane..... But D4L came outta nowhere and got to number 1. It was weird.

Hey where are the younbloodz. I messed with that group heavy back in 06'
