Looking back, Was Chuck D kicking Griff out of PE a "sellout move" or "wise move"?

I personally didn't want GRIFF. kickes out and neither did Chuck D

the reporter who set GRIFF up was a black reporter with the Washington Post who published Griffs off the record remarks for brownie points for having a hot story

Chuck only did it cause.of pressure from RUSSELL who was afraid of offending his zionist comnects like Walter Tetnikoff of CBS who originally bankrolled def jam

at best GRIFF should have just been censored or placed on hiatus

Damn they usually use one of us :snoop:

The funny thing is neither LYOR COHEN or RICK RUBIN whom already had left DEF JAM was even tripping

they knew it was best to let PE have thier artistic freedom cause PE was meant to upset the status quo

That's why RICK RUBIN brought them to DEF JAM ..russell simmons NEVER cared for them

and it showed when Russell and POLYGRAM/DEF JAM blocked PE to prevent them from releasing thier album BRING THE NOISE 2000 on the net

Its similar to when Farrakhan kicked out Khalid Muhammad for making "anti Semitic" remarks about Jews. I mean if you're kicking pro black talk and preaching about racism, You have to tackle the true origins of who makes the wheel spin(The Jews). Do you guys feel that the dismissal of Griff hurt the groups credibility considering they bowed under pressure?

Thats whats puzzling to me too.. Does Chuck speak on Russell doing that in any interviews?

Wise move.

You cant be about helping people, and then kick that "jew is to blame" shyt.
I still dont understand why some black folks hold on to that...leave that to bitter white people.

He has referred.to Russell as a buzzard on many occasions

and Griff calls russell..Hustle Simmons :russ:

But what pisses Chuck off more than that situation is what he feels is DEF JAM getting the MOTOWN CURSE
Basically a culturally iconic.brand.losing its soveriegnty and relevence because of outsise corporate intrests

and RUSSELL was just the sharecropper te
nding the field ever since it signed its first distribution deal

It was both, and in spite Griff arguably to this day may still have some bit of animosity over it, Griff understood and Chuck and Griff are still brothers. But at that time, coming off one of the greatest albums ever made in hip hop and on the verge of blowing up mainstream, Chuck D HAD to make the sacrifice because it was either Griff had to go or the entire group will completely fold. The fact that the group got larger acclaim afterwards points to this being a wise decision.
