I loved it when it first came out. And then the toxicity from other players and little kids whining on the mic all day wore me the fukk out

Honestly the first month or so of overwatch and the summer of pokemon go were probably my favorite game experiences ever lol.

The D
damn nikkas makin it sound like this shyt is Paladins :dead:

overwatch recouped all costs and was very profitable. That makes it successful. Period.

The fact that people still play and cop loot boxes is icing on the cake :manny:

This game is good because each character is distinct. Trying to learn a new character is like playing a whole new game.

With that being said, the game should have failed. There's no single player campaign. You can't choose which map or game type you want to play. It almost feels like a beta. If this were made by another company it would fail.

WHAT??? Yall really just be saying anything and really believe it.

The game from the very first teaser was always marketed as a multiplayer TEAM game. Never in any type of promotion did blizzard advertise this as a single player game.

As far as choosing what map or game type u want. THEY HAVE A ENTIRE CUSTOM MODE. YOU CAN LITERALLY CREATE ANY TYPE OF MODE ON ANY TYPE OF MAP WITH ANY RESTRICTIONS YOU DESIRE.

had a spark when it started, now it's just....:francis:

it's legitimately remembered more for the all the porn it spawned rather than the actual gameplay :picard:

Companies had to pay in AT LEAST $20 Million to participate in Overwatch league which now has 20 teams. That's at least $400,000,000 as in basically Half a BILLY...

FOR ONE DAMN league...not to mention its RETAIL sales (purchases/lootboxes) mark profits for Overwatch in at least a billion.

fukk outa here with this flawed ass opinion...ANYTHING that makes a Billion and a half dollars in 2.5 years is UNGODLY successful.

The Truth
Its not a failure but I definitely can’t see why it’s AS popular.

I have it and used to play it a lot but none of my friends did.

It can be crazy at times but the lack of variety and customization ruins it to me sometimes.

Overwatch is actually around the $5 billion mark :whew:

Keep in mind you got what you just wrote + another $1-2 billion from actual sales of the game ($40-60, not including collector editions), the $400 million was just the buy in from the teams, not including the revenue from the actual league itself (skin sales, viewer and ad $ from twitch/ESPN, etc.) plus lootbox sales over the past 2 1/2 years :wow:

the real irony of this thread, take away the money.. is it a flop in what regards? I just realized its 3 year anniversary is coming up... theirs not a single new SHOOTER game that has buzz from 3 years ago EXCEPT overwatch

No other game from THREE YEARS AGO has NEARLY as big of an active player base (most have none)

I'd say in most universes :yeshrug:
I get it, nerds run deep, if everybody was cool then nobody would be cool :hula: and I say that to say there isn't a single person on my friendslist that plays it, I don't know anybody personally who plays it. It's not a title that a non gamer would say they heard of it. The people who do play it usually can be found in their underwear at noon :dame: I could give a giddy ghat damn fukk about how many Twitter followers the game has, THE GENRE IS TRASH! (Story Tru)
:laff:
