It's more akin to feuding with more coordination.
You've got whole families in gangs, kids growing up from
day one with aunts and uncles that bang, or living in neighborhoods where a certain gang is the majority and they're around these people who partake in gang activities.

So their relatives and close friends are dying due to gang violence.
And when they're out in the streets and they see the opposite color,
it's not the color that fuels them it's all the things attached to that color like
violence, mourning, fear etc.

So when cats say they're "Killing each other over colors !" they're missing the complexity of such a situation and instead broil it down to just violence for violence's sake.
This isn't to say there aren't cats who just wanna be criminals I'm just saying there's
a lot more to it than that.
