Jamar isn't trash but he's pretty boring. More interesting talking head than he is a rapper. You can name like 5 rappers that do everything Jamar does 10x better than him. Kinda like Joe Budden

I like the joe budden analogy...joe is a very decent/competent MC...but he’s nowhere near as nice as he thinks he is but I understand as a competitive MC he has to believe he is the best but “boring” (compared to his contemporaries) is the perfect summation for me...and it’s not meant to be an insult but just speaks to the competition they faced @ the time...during joe’s time there was a shyt ton of music coming out and a lot more shyt I preferred to listen to over his shyt

No hoe, there's no gold, the G-O-D know
The time on the Sun and the Moon and the Stars
Dance to the tune of Lord Jamar

:whoo:

Exactly!

...Quick to claim my name and my dikk but when I tell you to get off the swine and get refined you act like you’re blind and you lost your damn mind.

That verse/song is classic material.

you bugin

this album wasnt bad but his second solo...business is business, is crazy. it got slept on but it's one of thosr I listen to now as much as when it dropped

Nah...

"Rugged n Raw" was dope and about the only good thing to be said about P's solo run.

But that shyt he dropped in '94 was definitely not the move.

Ya'll just saying bullshyt now. D12 rapped about gay shyt and doing hard drugs. Lord Jamar dedicated his first lp to the 5% teachings. For u to say D12 has better verses and songs sounds like someone who doesn't know hiphop.

Riiight.. smh i fux with Brand Nubian 10000x before i play ANYTHING from D12 :scust:

he's had some good verses, but my most memorable is All for One....but on Punks he wasnt fukkin around either. Jamar's never been wack but his problem is that he usually is on tracks with others that he gets outshined by. In Brand Nubian if it wasnt Puba, which was most of the time, it was X. his verse on Oz was dope but just totally washed by G Rap

agree wit everytin here 1000%

his first LP was dope, gave the lessons the musicality they deserve

Naa nikka. You fuked up. U said Lord Jamar raps about religion. No real hip hop head would say that.

3 albums that dropped in 05 that disappointed me Proofs Jerry Garcia album...Because Proof was hyped up as being Ems mentor so I was anticipating heavy. I remember XXL gave it a low score...Like an M...CNNs Capones debut because it had been an 8 year hype up only to be a let down. Source gave that one 2 1/2 mics. And Tony Yayos Predicate felon album...Tho I still say if they woulda just grabbed the 8 good songs and made it an ep it woulda been classic. Source gave that 2 1/2 mics too...LOL.

So when u went right for Proof...I knew you were talking out your ass because Lord Jamars debut was way better lyrically and content wise. The only flaw that album had was the production sounded amateur sounding.

Now thats what I would have said to you if you didnt mistake 5% teachings for "religion"....Which off the top tells me u arent familiar with Lord Jamar or Hip Hop at all. As soon as u said that I immediately couldnt take u serious anymore so I'm not gonna waste my time trying to prove anything. I'm just gonna call u out for not knowing hip hop...Yes u dont know hip hop if Rakim had the "Universal Flag" on that 2nd album he did wirh Eric B and 31 years later u think 5% and religion are the same. SMH.

:snoop:

You're on point most of the time, breh:myman: but Searching for Jerry Garcia was/still is dope.

And no way in hell Jamar's shyt was doper lyrically:beli:

I know cats dont fukk with Detroit on this board, but damn:what:

A Day in the Life from Diamond D's album is my personal favorite because of how laid back his flow was on that beat. Don't Let It Go to Your Head is another classic. Word Is Bond, etc. He's got a lot of great verses. One of those rappers that you might not know you know all the words to but if someone throws on Brand Nubian I'm rapping word for word.
