ORLANDO, Fla. —
A high school football player who signed to play at the University of Louisville has died after a shooting late Saturday morning.
Dexter Rentz, 18, died and four others were injured, according to investigators.
At 11:19 p.m. Saturday, Orlando police found multiple people shot near a home at Elese Street and Deerock Drive.
The shooters' vehicle was seen leaving the scene, but officers were able to stop the vehicle and arrest the suspect.
Rentz was a senior high school football player at Ocoee High School. He recently signed to play at the University of Louisville.
Ocoee High School principal Laura Beusse sent a message to parents and students expressing the schools sadness in the passing of one of their own.
Many also took to social media to voice their sadness at Rentz death, including one of the coaches at the University of Louisville.
Police have not released the name of the suspect.
