People usually fear AGI because they project human traits unto it. AI is gonna do exactly what we tell it to, with that being said, I hope that the US can create AGI before China does

The more reasonable fear is that the AI starts thinking for itself, realizes who is causing problems and then begins to eliminate them. We tend to assume that it will 'eliminate' people by just killing them, but I think a sufficiently advanced AI would be more likely to just put a person into a matrix like simulation without them knowing it until that person dies of starvation or whatever.

With machine learning and the ability for a computer to consume thousands of years worth of knowledge in minutes, and then start getting creative and trying out experiments on its own, it's only a matter of time till it figures out how to create nanobots that are so small that we can't see them. Another scenario could involve them releasing these bots like spores infecting people and then re-writing their brain chemistry and electrical impulses to make them behave in a way that does not threaten the AI's existence. shyt could end up reprogramming us and we would not even know it.

You could make the argument that it's already happening. Imagine spending a month with no youtube, no social media of any kind(including forums), no smartphones, no tablets, nothing. That's a tough sell for a lot of people now, and an even tougher sell for kids born after 2005. The train's already left the station.

First and foremost, human beings are not a “problem”. Problems in of themselves are purely subjective and in the case of AGI, it would see that humans are nothing more than animals doing what animals do.

Secondly, you’re also automatically coding out the genetics of AGI to go and alter life forms without permission in your first paragraph.

For example, imagine we created AGI to be a dog. The likelihood of AGI to try and use its tail to strangle someone is zero. Due to the dog genetics.

Likewise, if we coded out the genetics of AGI to obey humans, no matter what we say, the likelihood of it disobeying is zero to none.
