While he aint that good, this is pretty fukked up:


During the playoffs last year, doctors ordered the Bulls Luol Deng to undergo a spinal tap to test whether he had meningitis. He didn’t, but the test itself went bad — spinal fluid leaked into his body and Deng became incredibly ill. While he faced a literally life-threatening situation the Bulls called it “the flu.” Deng missed the entire second round of the playoffs trying to recover.

Deng is going to test the free agent market next season (the Bulls didn’t want to talk extension), which means this could be the last run for this Bulls roster.

Predicting what Deng will decide to do next summer is impossible, but based on what his agent his agent Herb Rudoy told David Aldridge of NBA.com it doesn’t sound like he’s staying. While it was reported the two sides were talking about extension, Rudoy doesn’t see it that way.

“We never negotiated,” Rudoy said Friday. “We had several meetings. One was to discuss the medical care he got, or did not get, after his spinal tap [in May], which was of great concern to him.”

“Did or did not get?” That is a dig at the Bulls. Aldridge explains.

But he was upset that the Bulls’ team physicians accompanied the team to Miami for the start of the series, leaving him alone in a Chicago hospital as he lost 15 pounds and became violently ill as spinal fluid leaked into his body. Deng was sick for weeks afterward.

That kind of feeling of betrayal is hard to get over.

Winning and winning big could keep this Bulls core together, and the Bulls say they want to keep Deng, but it feels like a long shot. The Bulls look like a team thinking of clearing out space to go after another star to pair with Rose, while Deng sounds willing to move on. He will have other suitors next summer.

“I know there will be a terrific market for Luol Deng,” Rudoy said. “Bulls fans should know he loves playing in Chicago. But if the Bulls don’t want to give him an extension, he’s obliged to take a look at the market and make a decision that’s best for him.”​

dumb ass front office going to lose the 1 asset we can flip to push us closer to a true title contender for absolutely nothing :snoop:
he is expendable we got jimmy butler.

this dumb ass front office still trying to position themselves to grab someone in free agency so they going to let deng walk for nothing. problem is they have to let deng walk, amnesty boozer, let kirk walk, trade taj and then dont bring miritoc over in order to get some cap space large enough to grab a good player,.

thing is you have to replace that production we are losing with pts from boozer, deng and taj and the defense we losing from deng taj and kirk. plus the rebounding we losing by losing deng taj and boozer. we have to replace that with maybe 14 mill we can clear up. that is asking a lot.

the best move is to flip deng now for that great player to pair with rose either straight up with assets or in a 3 team scenario, or flip deng for young prospect and assets to make a player on a great player maybe next off season. but flip deng for something. going in thinking we are going to get in the free agency market and make a splash will leave us looking stupid like we looked stupid in 2000, and 2010. then we left filling the roster out with more mediocre talent that rose will have to carry, thibs will have to coach up and we continue to only be good enough to lose in the ecf every damn year. at some point we cant keep covering the bullshyt moves or non moves behind the talent of rose and the coaching of thibs. we need more talent. we keep competing with these mediocre talented, non athletic injury prone roster we will continue to fall short every damn season.

Sad thing is I think the Bulls are one player who can create for himself away from being a true contender. Somebody that can consistently carry the offense when Rose is out of the game or being doubled. They probably had multiple chances to get one if they were just willing to pay the luxury tax.

Bulls are doing to Rose what the Lions did to Barry Sanders and Vikings doing to Adrian Peterson: Wasting his prime years.
The Bulls should have been doing backflips to get into the Dwight Howard conversation. SHould have lured Lala to CHI town with her own TVShow and recording studio in hopes that shed bring Melo with her. But nope. They got lucky with that first pick that got them Rose and they are happy with it. That first pick should have been Miami's. Chicago has had so many 1st picks over the years I'm starting to think they got naked picks of Stern fukking sheeps in a barn
