pre-Lasers Lupe is the best MC I've ever heard. I can't think of anyone else that had elite flow, lyrics, content, concepts, storytelling ability, wordplay, etc. on that level. He was the total package (pause).


Hov is the GOAT, a lot of it having to do with things like longevity, commercial success, influence, etc. But as far as which rapper was the best actual rapper at their peak, it's Lupe to me. Bar none.

It's not hard to get jaded when you're one of the few standing up for something surrounded by others who stand for something completely different. Lupe has a solid catalogue but in hindsight we couldn't expect dude to stay putting out fire forever.
