Glorified 3-3.5 mic album with cheap knock off beats, terrible WWE entrance music status hooks, and Jay Z biting throughout

Benefitted from gaudy affiliations and label support in a dark era for hip hop

A so called classic album with only one classic song Kick, Push

And stop juelzing with the sales bu bu but the audit :camby:

Sighs.....this post is so accurate and on the noise.

I lovedddd that album at the time, but listening to it now it aged terribly I mean we're talking typical mid 2000s "real hip hop" levels of babble.

Meanwhile, The Cool just hits so different. It felt like Lupe at its true peak. You had hits, you had underground type of tracks, you had introspective jawns, etc

The main gripe with Food and Liquor is that it's a time capsule album. You listen to it now and its like "heh, imagine that...2000s was a wild time!".

Sad to say it, but if F&L Advance wasn't leaked and put out, it would have been gold in an instant. That album in itself is more raw and straight up Dopeboy Lupe, rather than cosplaying fabricated Lupe. You can tell Chilly was behind the booth going:
