Sony didn't make them change anything, it was feedback from the people.
The people who see Sony don't have the features they dislike in the XB1. If Sony had those same features then the only option consumers would have would be Wii-U, no console, or deal with these new features. Sony not having those features added another, more attractive option for gamers who wanted to be a part of the next gen but don't want to deal with certain features. So Sony didn't directly make them change anything, but the very reality of how the two consoles have been received and the main publicized differences between the two did make them change and Sony is a part of that.
