Mac Miller and His Label sign to Warner Bros.

Mac Miller, the No. 1 seller and FADER cover star, has signed with Warner Bros. The deal, according to a source, is rumored to be worth some $10 million dollars. Miller has, until now, been unconnected to a major label in 2014, focusing instead on a self-released tape, Faces, and developing artists with his own independent label, Remember Music. At Warner, Miller will keep the Remember imprint, where he'll be able to sign and develop new artists. Upcoming Miller releases, as well as released from artists he signs, will come through REMember/Warner Bros.
"Warner is the most independent thinking company I met with," Miller told The FADER in an email. "It is a partnership and now I can focus on building my label Remember through music and let them handle everything I don't like doing. Nothing will change in how I do things." He added: "They have Prince." To celebrate the new deal, Miller is sharing a new track. "Just Some Raps, Nothing To See Here, Move Along." It's produced by SAP:

it just seems like more of a distribution deal..and a backing for his own label, to push the music of whatever friends he has in his entourage

he had 2 independent albums sell over 100k (one i think had 150k) first week breh..managed to get a reality show on mtv for some reason..and always working with major artists/prooducer

i think hes a swagless cac, with pretty lame music for the most part..but hes definitely one of the most successful indy artists we've seen in a while..

They have a similar deal but IMO Warner Bros>Sony. New faces at Sony+lazy e-A&Rs whereas Warner Bros is more on the ball to me.
