For music production rn there's actually a few disadvantages, a lot of music software isn't compatible/updated yet for the M1 architecture.

You kno if this works on presonus Studio 5?

has to as long as it takes vst2 format or vst3 which most DAW do...

i think serato only comes in the first one

there are websites that list manufacturers and plugins that have M chip support and those that don't. Unless you got a lot of old plugins you use regularly i'd not be very concerned.

i kept a lot of my old plugins and old projects on an old laptop cloned my drive on a new one and tested to see incompatibility issues by painstakingly opening each project and minimal plugins failed for me.
