For anyone not sure what this is…It’s a book written about DOOM / Madlib and the creation of Madvillainy. It celebrates the album as a representation of two genius musical minds melding to form one revered supervillain. A product of circumstance, the album came together soon after MF DOOM's resurgence and Madlib's reluctant return from avant-garde jazz to hip-hop.

Written from the alternating perspectives of three fake music journalist superheroes-featuring interviews with Wildchild, M.E.D., Walasia, Daedelus, Stones Throw execs, and many other real individuals involved with the album's creation-this book blends fiction and non-fiction to celebrate Madvillainy not just as an album, but as a folkloric artifact. It is one specific retelling of a story which, like Madvillain's music, continues to spawn infinite legends.

This isn’t an ad. I just copied the blurb for info. The book is great...I love the way it has little subtle nods to aspects of the album in the way it is written. Would recommend If you are a fan.

I love these books. I have a few of them. They are written by fans about the albums and their experiences. Yes, I am ordering NOW. I already have books from the 33 1/3 seris for albums from Tribe, Nas, PE, and Dilla.

How is the ATCQ one? Their first album is my favourite and I’m going to pick up a copy of that 33 1/3 next.

I am comfortable and I love you
I'd like to read some brehs opinions before I commit to reading. I've read some really great books and some mid ones in this series. It's very dependent on the author. A couple I enjoyed were the ones on Paul's Boutique and (outside of hip hop) Spiderland by Slint.

it was a stroll down memory lane. The author talks about the history of the album and the first time he heard it among other things. These books are short.

I’ll pick it up soon. Thanks.

I was interviewed for this Madvillainy one. Got a few quotes in there.

This one has some literary/artistic licence taken with how it is presented. Works well for the most part.
