I didn't like the second one and im not sure why these games are popular. shyt was one long boring cliche movie
Mafia II was great imo, I only hated that there wasn't that much to do outside of missions and still had more fun with that than GTA 4. Was it cliched? I guess that's one way of looking at it although that's pretty much what life was like in organized crime overall. The way Vito's story unfolded was told pretty well I enjoyed the missions especially the way 2K captured that 40's-50's vibe. Cliched isn't always a bad thing, GTA Vice City was a parody of mafia/80's/Scarface cliches and it's still my favorite GTA today with San Andreas being slightly behind it.
The setting is interesting. Louisiana isn't widely known for it's organized crime but they do have their tales. LMAO, I think either the Dallas mob or New Orleans mob leader is credited for killing JFK (depending on which of the 101 "the mafia killed JFK" theories you want to believe) because JFK stole his mistress. The New Orleans mafia (which is one of the oldest mafia going back farther than some of NY's five families) had alot of beefs with other families. Although I wanted the cliched Las Vegas setting for the next Mafia game since I love movies like Casino, Bugsy and those Biography's about the Rat Pack in Vegas, the Louisiana setting sounds like a great idea. I always liked the infamous tales of the lesser known mob families outside of NY and the Outfit.
