Kool G Rap doing rhymes about killing mobsters in one thing but when someone actually associated with the mob starts rapping there really is no further Mafioso Rap can go. I remember it was either Don Diva or FEDS were he was telling his story about how his pops was a mob gangster and the elders associated with his pops were like "WTF are you doing?" because he was rapping and I was saying that myself. A description of his pops from The Daily News:
Authorities described Pennini, as a high-level independent mobster who worked for the Luchese, Genovese, Bonanno and Gambino crime families. He was particularly close to the Gotti family after having served an eight-year prison term for heroin trafficking.
And this guy was getting a pass strictly from being mob associated not because he was actually that great an mc. His name doesn't come up amongst other white rappers such as Necro or Vinnie Paz yet he was getting on songs with Raekwon, Ghostface, Papoose and Prodigy and Kay Slay let him host one of his mixtapes.
He has a bunch of songs out there but there is only one song he did that I really liked and thats because he freaked the HBO intro beat. But when u listen to the lyrics you cant help but go
because he's talking about how "G men in trench coats spray you u in broad day." You cant help but to think "OK who else is listening to this guys music trying to solve pieces to puzzles?
