Europeans are sympathetic to Black Americans (I think) because of how well our grandfathers and great grandfathers conducted themselves in WW1/WW2.

They were much more respectful of locals than white American soldiers and braver, smarter etc. They couldn't figure out how WE were 2nd class citizens despite being so damn awesome.

Of course......they don't see the irony in how they treat African and Caribbean immigrants.
