Magic Johnson and the Dodgers: Real Sports September 2012 - YouTube

When it was time to get in on the ownership of the Los Angeles Dodgers Earvin “Magic” Johnson says he personally signed a $50,000,000 check, the largest he ever signed in his life, helping his group buy the team for $2.15 billion. Back in 2010 the NBA legend sold his stake in the Lakers and his 105 Starbucks franchises to free up about $100 million in cash according to sports experts.

Kind of crazy to think about liquidating that much, but still a  move. I hope that he gets a return on that.

When the last time you hear about a white person surviving any adversity?...:ld:

Brothas get shot...survive.
Catch HIV...survive.
Incarcerated in the worst conditions...survive.

:obama: #blackexcellence.

Anybody have the whole interview?

105 starbucks only worth 100 million ? how much does it take to own a starbucks location ?

Maybe he sold equity but not the entire franchise. For example he could have sold like 30% ownership on a few just so that he still has ownership and liquid money that he could use for the $50M check.
