From what I've heard lyrically and production wise so far, I have to say it's time for Jay to retire. Granted I haven't heard the completed finished product BUT right now..his latest work has been declining.

What Kendrick did to him was like

His verse on Suit and Tie was :scusthov:

My concern is that he the more trash material he puts out, the more he'll slip in terms of being considered the GOAT. It happens to everyone...

Roy was being mentioned as Pound for Pound champ...one of the best to ever do it.

Damn Jay, you had a spark when you first started, then you was burning something retarded...and now ur like a pilot light looking for a way to take off again.

his verse was straight but K. Dot ate him.

As for prime, I would argue that a few people from when Jay first dropped are damn near if not in their prime.

He is slippin in terms of lyrics and even his voice at times sounds:flabbynsick: but there are alot of other bad rappers making music. He can't do any worse than a Trinidad James, Gucci Mane, Papoose etc. he stil better than most at this stage of his career.

Ok breh, Nas is sounding a lot better now, Monch is more or less the same, Black Thought most consistent mc of all time on the mic, but Rae and Red? :flabbynsick:? They spit straight boring shyt now breh.

Plus all those dudes are poorer with less to lose and less side hustles than Jay. Majority of those kats are just straight rappers. Low yield rappers too in terms of touring.

I guess Em didn't get that memo on Renegade.

we all know Em' destroyed Hov' on Renegade. Em and Jay were on the same popularity level at the time Blueprint was released and the same age as well. Kendrick is the new guy and Hov hopped on the track. Kendrick's verse is better but I don't think it was a competition at all. Just by the subject matter alone in the respective verses, you can tell Hov' wasn't competing bar for bar.
