Maitenance and the Afro

I don't know if this is the place to ask so chill

I'm trying to maintain an Afro, keep my hair and scalp healthy. I admit I'm not the best at this and i seek enlightenment


Like all black people i was tricked into hating my features while growing up, so i always shaved my head and didn't need to really do anything after that.

Long story short why everyone else allowed to have hair on their head except black people

You are always allowed. It is simply something black people get the most shyt for. I'm starting to believe it isn't even because of white supremacy
of old, im starting to think that EVEN IF someone never hear another negative thing about a black persons hair, they would jump to that conclusion.

Saw it with little kids. The white girls could comb and comb and comb, or just let their her lie any old way. Black girls had to take extra care, lest they
pull their shyt right out. It is something that will forever stick, like people saying my afro looked like a brillo pad back in HS. Obviously I didn't give a shyt, but
my self-esteem isn't the same as everyone elses, so the next brotha or sister may look at themselves very shamefully as a result.

The worst I ever got was someone sticking paper and colored pencils in my 3 inch fro and no one told me for a whole class that the shyt was in it.
Again, it didn't bug me(I was a weird kid) but for other loner black kids, that shyt could END their self-worth. We gotta reinforce that it isn't our problem, its
the fukkbois of all races who trash it that has the problem.

No need to tell me, breh. Gingers get it REAL bad in school I'm guilty of that shyt too. Not making fun of them, but my perspective. Ginger males are fukked.
Ginger females are either REALLY beautiful or really Obviously I am older now and know better, but it seemed that way then.

One of the big issues with our kinda hair is "doing" hair is becoming somewhat of a lost art. Still got folks out here perming and relaxing, instead of spending saturdays
with their daughters head right between their legs, pause, getting in there with a comb, a brush, and a few different oils.

My family went REAL heavy on the weave game and it is atrocious. BTW, I rock it bald myself cause fros maintenance is ass. Save a lot more money just cutting it all off every 3 weeks.
