You’re not going to realize the importance of this until you’re in a spiritual psychedelic experience, your mind is downloading esoteric wisdom from the akashic record

You try to put on your favorite song and an ad for Carl’s Jr. pops up right in the middle of the peaks of your psychedelic experience

:camby:

When you think about it you don’t even listen to that wide an array of songs. $10 a month is 120 a year, you don’t listen to 120 different songs regularly. At least buy them for $1.29 and then have them on your phone when you want on your demand, not some stresming service that is really just a data harvesting center trying to figure what is the best time to advertise a Gatorade to you

I hear you bro..... it's weird af that they would do that

My only guess is they have calculated that shorter songs = more streams = more bread

But I agree, it is stupid and pointless to do that
Not sure I’m correct here but why does it matter? Isn’t it you only have to listen to a song for only 30 secs for it to count as a stream? The total length doesn’t matter

Been telling people this for years.

Cats "renting" music on these streaming services when the label can alter or remove shyt with zero notice, and you have no recourse.

I'm good on that.

Fred.

I made some playlists when Spotify first came out that I check once or twice a year, and songs are constantly grayed out and taken off the service

After that I started backing up all my physical stuff, movies and all

the worst is when sample clearances cause them to use a different beat or completely take the song off the album

like, I HATE the verison of TI, Lets Get Away thats on streaming cause they had to change the cadence of the hook and take off Keri Hilson...shyt is like nails on a chalkboard to me compared to the og.....or on Mia X album, they couldnt use the stevie wonder sample so they got a generic ass beat for "You and Me"........Smoking Green not on the TRU album cause of the Isley brother sample... some of Biggie's songs got fukked up cause of samples...shyt like that

i still have all my cds and itunes library but it just sucks for the convenience of having everything in your phone
I haven’t listened to ready to die in over a decade because of this

It killed the title track and machine gun funk

cos shorter songs = more songs = more bread

7 streams in 20 mins is more lucrative than 3 streams

and so you retain listeners in todays shorter song shorter attention span era

not saying they done that, just saying that's the theory
