Malcolm-Jamal Warner Discusses Bill Cosby Allegations
Will Lerner 2 hours 54 minutes ago
Malcolm-Jamal Warner will be on The Real Monday, but the show has released a clip in advance. He was asked for his thoughts about how reruns of The Cosby Show have been taken off the air because of multiple allegations of drugging, sexual assault, and rape by Bill Cosby.

Warner has lost a source of revenue because the show is off the air. “It’s literally taking money out of my pocket,” he said. “So I got my own personal feelings about that, because it personally affects me.” The sitcom star said he has noticed the outrage seems to be hypocritical, seemingly pointing out a racial bias. “I can’t help but think about Woody Allen, Roman Polanski, Stephen Collins, um, who it’s very clear … um, you know, the crimes they’ve committed, but there’s no one that, you know, has been calling for Woody’s movies to be pulled off the air. Roman Polanski is still celebrated.”

That being said, he declined to support his former television dad. “I am in no position to defend him because I can’t,” he said. “But nor will I throw him under the bus.”

I understand Warner is extremely salty now (and rightfully so) because his residual income has stopped, but I have a issue with Malcolm Jamal Warner's comments (above in quotes) because he's basically low key throwing Bill Cosby under the bus now that the heat has intensified on Cosby, instead of continuing to staunchly defend him as he did in the past.

"He's one of my mentors, and he's been very influential and played a big role in my life as a friend and mentor," Warner tells Billboard. Just as it's painful to hear any woman talk about sexual assault, whether true or not, it's just as painful to watch my friend and mentor go through this.

"I can't really speak on any of the allegations because obviously, I was not there. The Bill Cosby I know has been great to me and great for a lot of people. What he's done for comedy and television has been legendary and history-making. What he's done for the black community and education has been invaluable. That's the Bill Cosby I know. I can't speak on the other stuff."

There was literally nothing wrong with what he said. He wasn't there. And he said he ain't gonna diss him or throw him under the bus.

That's your opinion! Warner wasn't in a position to adamantly defend Cosby in the past either, but he's done so emphatically on numerous occasions, which I applaud. However, the current statement I've pinpointed from the article appears as if he's just riding the fence.

Apparently Bill set them up pretty well with the syndication deal.

Thats probably a good reason why none off them have spoken against him.
that might have helped. but the truth is. he gave them a shot and that show blew up. they can never take that away from him. with that said unless they know for sure about those allegations to be true. there is nothing to say negative about him. everyone knew he liked to get around. that was well known in hollywood. maybe not with the average joe public. so thats not news to them. and there are so many others who play one way on TV/movies yet do all sorts of shakey stuff in the background. so they probably feel they have no right to put him down even though half of hollywood is on some hollywierd ish anyway. which is what malcom is saying. if we're going all in on cos with just allegations lets go all in on those white dudes with official recors of misconduct.
