yes, yes brehs, it's just about that time
big blue madness kicks off friday so I feel it's about time to make our official thread for the upcoming historical train we're about to run on college basketball.
my projected starting lineup:
Key Reserves:
Anyway, it's going to be a fun year. It's possible we lose a couple games really early (like Michigan State) but 40-0 and a championship is certainly possible with the immense amount of talent AND DEPTH on this team. I'll up this later when the games start coming on

big blue madness kicks off friday so I feel it's about time to make our official thread for the upcoming historical train we're about to run on college basketball.
my projected starting lineup:
PG - Andrew Harrison (F) - Both twins are 6'6 and 220+ pounds. They're pitbulls, and they hate to lose. I expect Andrew Harrison to rack up PLENTY of assists. We all know Coach Cal teams are all about sharing the ball, with the weapons around him it should be quite easy to do so. He's also a better shooter than people realize.
SG - Aaron Harrison (F) - The slightly better shooter of the two, and Aaron is still great at setting his teammates up and making the right pass.
SF - Alex Poythress (Soph) - Going against Randle all summer should make a beast out of poythress. last year he didn't have anyone that could challenge him on a daily basis. I expect big improvements to ball handling otherwise James Young could easily take this starting spot.
PF - Julius Randle (F) - I don't think anything needs to be said about him, he could end up being the best PF to ever officially play at UK. (Shawn Kemp)
C - Willie Cauley (Soph) - Runs the floor like a gazelle, good shot blocker, I expect a better offensive game and FREE THROWS from him. He must be aware that Dakari could take his spot if he doesn't perform.
Key Reserves:
SG/SF - James Young (F) - The "lockdown" defender Andrew Wiggins held James Young to 29 points when they were matched up with eachotherhe could end up being one of the best players in the country.
PG - Dominique Hawkins (F)- Local homegrown Kentucky talent, he dropped 30+ points on the Harrison Twins. While he's short, he makes up for it with his deceptive upper body strength and quickness. I've heard he's been a pesky defender in practice.
PF/C - Marcus Lee (F) - Jumps out of the GYM like a pogo stick. Has insane athleticism, but is still very raw offensively and is basically a twig right now in terms of weight. Think Nerlens Noel defensively though, from what I've heard he's a shot blocking machine. He played volleyball in highschool and had D1 offers to the best volleyball teams in the country.
C - Dakari Johnson - Think Demarcus Cousins without a jumpshot. Hopefully his weight and mobility isn't a huge issue, I heard he was down to 9% body fat which is great. I really love his potential. It'll be nice to have a big space eater inside like him.
PG - Jarrod Polson (JR?) - could be a steadying force if we need him to run offense.
SF - Jon Hood (SR) - could help in a way Darius Miller did. I'd really like to see him do something this year.
PF - Derek Willis (F) - Apparently he can really shoot the ball. Needs more strength. 3* Local product, but has been impressing people in practice, he just recently dunked on Julius Randle and Dakari Johnson.
Anyway, it's going to be a fun year. It's possible we lose a couple games really early (like Michigan State) but 40-0 and a championship is certainly possible with the immense amount of talent AND DEPTH on this team. I'll up this later when the games start coming on
