It Takes A Thief was a great album. It was before he went totally pop.
Ehh, hold up..disagree.
See theres a problem that hip-hop fans usually twist. When people say pop they're really saying in terms of the music & such. But becoming popular makes rap fans dismiss artists since the gate the culture cuz they associate becoming
popular with selling out or becoming "uncool to like".
Just saying in general. He had hit songs but have you heard his 2 album after that? Hell no that wasnt no pop records. No way. "Gangstas Paradise" (album) '95 & "My Soul" in '97 were dope as shyt. Re-listen. Dont confuse becoming more popular with being wack all of a sudden.
Coolio has alot of records. From his Maad Circle things with WC & nem to his, at least 3 first solo albums, were dope.
"My Soul" had singles like "I C U When U Get There", obviously Gangstas Paradise was a hit song from the album right before & shyt like that. So i def disagree strongly with you. But its a typical hip-hop mentality tbh.
