A 33-year-old man was fatally shot in the chest on a Brooklyn street known as a prostitution hot spot early Sunday, police said.
The victim, Tjine Hemans of Jamaica Queens, was shot at about 12:20 a.m. at the corner of Georgia and Wortman Aves. in East New York. Cops recovered a gun and took a person of interest into custody, though charges were still pending Sunday morning.
The victim had an arrest record that included a 2018 bust for promoting prostitution, police sources said, though it wasn’t clear if that past led to his killing.
Medics took Hemans to Brookdale University Hospital, but he couldn’t be saved.
