MY JOB IS DRAINING ME. I'VE NEVER HAD A JOB THAT WENT AGAINST MY MORALS. EVERYDAY I STRUGGLE TO NOT PUT MY 2 WEEKS IN. AT THIS POINT I'LL TAKE A DIP IN PAY TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. I MADE A BIG MISTAKE LEAVING MY OTHER JOB FOR MORE MONEY.

Out here in my damn drawls
Seeing the older adults in my family gettin' f*cked over in their retirement benefits really put things in perspective for me. All of 'em, lifelong employees without much to show for it except constant complaining and whining about their job.

My grandfather on the other hand is :eat: and sitting pretty watching old westerns, smoking, washing his cars and taking care of his lil' boat all day because he started his own business with only mediocre success. The only worries he has is going to the doctor regularly and having them sticking a finger up his a$$ :scusthov:

You'll never live or even pursue your dreams working for someone else.

I'm quitting my almost 100k paying IT jobs in 2 months. I'm selling my house. I've saved well and I'm debt free. I'm heading back to my home in Louisiana. I'm taking a few months off to be free and live. Then plot up a strategy to start a business or something. Life is too short to hate your job and life. You must give it a try. You'll be old before you know it.

If your job sucks, then you need a plan to leave that environment. If you have a business idea, you should start stacking money and drafting a business plan. People always say they are entrepreneurs but don't' have a clue what type of business they want to start or how to start it. I think once you find something you're passionate about, even if only on paper you will view your job as just a necessary step to get where you want to be and not a necessary evil.

fukk all that. I use to have that mentality until I got bills. shyt is stressful so I have to thug it out. I've quit enough jobs in my life trying to save my dignity, but soon realize that the only one who really cares is you. I hate to say this, but as long as I'm content, I'm good.

Figure out ways to use them more than they use you. Also, never quit, save your money and get fired so that you can at least collect unemployment while you're getting your real estate or business plans together. Saving isn't that hard.. I calculated that I spend over 8K a year on coffee and other random shyt.

I think I'm dependent on coffee to suppress the desire to pull the brakes out of my bosses car so that he can die on the highway... but I could cut out other random shyt.

Also, the worse place to be in life is to work for people you are more skilled and smarter than.

I was promoted a few months ago after trying my hardest to move up. Every job I've ever had I always came close but was never able to make that jump. It finally happened. But I didn't know that when you move up you lose all your friends, everyone hates you, and you gotta babysit grown ass men that can't follow the fukking rules. The hours are shyt but Im putting up with it so hopefully in 6 months to a year Ill get my own area to be in charge of with better pay/hours.

The third week I tried to quit but they told me if I quit its all the way back to starting pay and I'd have to wait awhile for my work. I just see this as paying dues, I've learned a lot about managing people and how to get what you want from others. It's a love/hate thing I guess.
