Is Jason Willis the worst neighbor ever? The Wisconsin man had the bright idea to advertise his neighbor's sexual services on Craigslist without her knowledge. A judge banned him from going online for 30 months.
Jason Willis, 31, was charged with felony identity theft after he created personal ads on Craigslist for a neighbor woman, who had no idea he was doing it.
A Wisconsin man has been banned from going online after a Craigslist prank spectacularly backfired.
Jason Willis, 31, thought he was just having some innocent fun advertising his neighbor's sexual services on personal ad sites.
But he caught a whole lot of heat after men started turning up at her Waterford house at all hours of the day - including one who was wearing nothing but a trench coat.
The victim, named only as Dawn, contacted cops in Nov. 2012 and they traced the adverts to Willis.
He was this week barred from using the internet for 30 months as part of a plea deal after confessing to sending men to her house.
"His idea of a joke is much different than other people's idea of a joke," Dawn told WISN 12 News.
She said one of the unexpected visitors had her full name and address.
"And he said, 'Oh, I got it off of Craigslist. You put an ad on there,'" she added.
Despite not being pestered for more than a year, she revealed she still "got anxious" when the doorbell rings.
Judge Pat Torhorst, with the Racine County Circuit Court, said he banned Willis from using the web after he used it as a weapon.
"If you want to drive drunk, you're not allowed to drive. To me, a public availability of the Internet, to use it the way he did, is unconscionable," he told TMJ4.
