A North Carolina man is facing felony charges after allegedly poaching over 200 'vulnerable' Venus fly trap plants.
Archie Lee Williams Jr., 41, of the Brunswick County town of Bolivia was charged with 73 felony counts of taking 216 of the rare carnivorous plant native to southeastern North Carolina.
Under North Carolina's Class H felony sentencing guidelines, Williams could serve 72 years, to a maximum of 450 years if each of his counts is prosecuted.
