An employee cannot be terminated on an approved leave of absence until they Return to active status. If he was on an approved leave, and that leave expired without approval of a long term disability extension, he was most likely notified his leave wasn’t approved and he was considered active status. It does not look like he ever reported to work so they most likely fired him for job abandonment.
He is bullshytting because he was receiving full pay...disability never pays full pay as it’s usually between 60 and 70 percent of your weekly salary. If he is on disability his paycheck would come from who ever administers the disability benefit and it would be monthly and he wouldn’t be picking it up from his place of employment it would come in the mail or direct deposit. This nikka new he was getting over. All they have to do is follow the paper trail. Most payroll systems are automated and and a wrong data can trigger someone back on it the payroll. If they never submitted the term to payroll, he is still on the hook as long as it shows he was terminated and notified.
