Raymond McKoy has been sentenced to life behind bars after convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend Lauren Hudson after seeing a photo of her with his estranged wife.
A philandering Georgia man who murdered his ex-girlfriend after she started dating his estranged wife will spend the rest of his life rotting behind bars.
Raymond McKoy, who prosecutors say flew into a jealous rage in 2013 and shot Lauren Hudson four times — the last shot execution-style in the back of her head, was sentenced Friday to life in prison without parole.
The disgraced Douglas County man had been cheating on his wife, Tameka McKoy, when she moved out and began a relationship with Hudson, who had a 9-year-old daughter at the time, prosecutors said.
It didn't take long before photos of Tameka and Hudson together on Instagram got McKoy's blood boiling.
That June, while Hudson was staying with Tameka, McKoy arrived at his estranged wife's apartment uninvited and unannounced while armed with a handgun — something he was known to carry.
The women called police and McKoy left. But one week later, after a night of drinking at a party, McKoy was back again.
"The defendant confronted his wife about the photo he had seen and demanded his family back," prosecutors said. "Tameka told him multiple times to leave and to go to the new family he had built with a woman he was having an extramarital affair with."
But McKoy refused to leave. Instead prosecutors say he "snapped." He entered a room Hudson had been hiding in and shot her dead before fleeing the apartment on foot.
When he was apprehended by a K9 officer in some nearby woods he was described as hiding with a butcher knife.
