That Hail Mary video creeped the shyt outta me. They put it out right after that "I ain't mad at cha" video. The first had him dying and the other was on some horror movie shyt. Damn, in hindsight Deathrow did a good marketing job on portraying him as a mythical spirit when he passed. "Wonder If heaven got a ghetto" was a real dope video also.

And somehow, they knew this was THE song to set the album off with.

First one recorded, first track... and it's just on another level. It's one of the songs on AEOM that are kinda ahead of its time compared to what else is on the album. A lot of the album is just dope '95-'96 era Cali shyt, but joints like Ambitionz and No More Pain are... :whew: steroid level.

I got bottled in a club by a yardie from the blindside. It was the wrong day for that, my uncles were bouncing on the door and we were 20 deep in the club celebrating.

My closest boy pulled me away from all the hype, just us two got in his car and this boy done put on Amibitionz as a Ridah :whoa:

Chased that yardie in the car, run him off the road and when I tell you that spirit of Pac fresh from the track took over:damn:

This shyt dangerous brehs, not to be fukked with.

True story

So many battlefield scars while driven in plush cars. . .

:ohlawd:

Classic song.

There was an interview with someone from Death Row a while back where he describes Pac already jotting down lyrics in this luxurious car on the way over to the studio after they flew him in straight from jail. Those first few bars just show how much this song was a reflection of exactly what was happening to him at the moment of writing the song. He just flawlessly blends the experience of his actual surroundings from that moment with the thoughts and emotions that he had been going over while locked up. It's like he thought in lyrics almost. Then right after he records this track, he records I Ain't Mad At'cha next. That switchup of emotional content is just.. :mindblown:
Man's mind and heart were a rollercoaster ride.
