DAVISON TWP., MI – Police in Davison Township are investigating a shooting from early this month in which a man was shot after walking into the wrong apartment.

Davison Township police said a 20-year-old Davison man was shot and killed around 2:30 a.m. July 3 when he inadvertently walked into the wrong apartment.

The shooter, a 22-year-old Davison man, lived in the same apartment complex as the victim, Windsor Place Apartments on Kensington Boulevard. The apartment door was unlocked.


Police said the incident remains under investigation, and authorities have been in contact with a person of interest.

Police are waiting for the results of tests performed by the crime lab.

Somebody walks into my crib I'm in life or death mode off the rip. I'm not playing 21 questions with you I'm going straight to 5 shotgun shells, 18 pistol shells, or 30 rifle shells depending on where I'm at in the crib. All my loved ones know what it is and wouldn't just walk in. I've also established codes for extreme situations so I’d know it's them if they did have to bust in my house.

From what little bit I've read, killers generally walk in calm and nonchalant. It's unfortunate but no one is getting the benefit of the doubt at 2am.
