I believe parole is an important part of the judicial system. The vast majority of parolees do not reoffend. I won't let this isolated incident change my opinion on parole in general. I think a tighter restriction on parole for inmates convicted of seriously violent crimes is in order, either through a longer wait time for parole consideration, or concrete proof that they are rehabilitated.

Absolutely agree that no one is immune from truly random acts of violence. But very often, people unfortunately put themselves into these situations. A lot of people in our society are addicted to it.
