Shouldn't be an issue if he minding his business and the mom draws clear boundaries, they shouldn't even be communicating like that besides basic manners type of shyt
Most parents with kids don't talk to their kids about them dating though, they just bring random adults back to the crib and try to force a relationship between them and the kids and wonder why they end up having issues. It can also be construed as that he does not want to date a woman with teenage children of any gender because there is a power struggle and you will come in and immediately be there to "replace their father" when they are damn near an adult already and will never see you that way

You know I can agree with this. No actual conversation is being had with the kid just telling them your friend is coming round. Obviously not in all cases but sometimes parents don’t communicate and suddenly the dynamic in the house shifts and children build resentment. And kids also make things about them cos that’s what kids do, thinking mom doesn’t love you anymore because she’s suddenly giving the attention she gave you to another person.
