he thought he'd do a better job as a convincing cheating victim if his character had discovered the act organically rather than being shown the act on camera.
He thought it was unrealistic that a women in a committed relationship would cheat so brazenly in front of a camera crew. took him out of his method.

What? No, it's tv show like any show on tv. there is script, a director, multiple takes, etc etc. he's not really in relationship with that actress, they weren't even actually fukking in that scene. Check the credits of any reality show. If there is a person with the title "story editor" that means the show is scripted. thats basically just a non unionized "screenwriter"

sometimes these shows will be "reality" in the fact that the stuff they are portraying are things actually happened organically, but they are reenacting the events that actually happened to get better camera angles and stuff.
