49ers lost that game because of a bad call. And the defensive player was coming off a block in an awkward position when he went into Brees.....

I dont see how calling this(and other plays like it) a penalty is gonna change anything going forward b/c it wasn't a dirty play by any means and the refs mis-judged it.

Pretty soon you wont even be able to tackle the QB in the vicinity of where he holds the football.

You are 100% right on this. These plays, defenseless receivers, QBs getting hit as they roll out of bounds all need at least a chance to be red flagged by coaches.

Dawg, they had the LEAD, they recovered a fumble and nearly mid-field, late in the game......and then not only had it taken away but gave the Saint a 15 yd penalty which moved them close enough to kick a FG.
